Re: Cheap Multis and Projects

Go get it!

FREE 1965 40' Piver Trimaran Sailboat (Panama City Beach)

FREE 1965 40' Piver Trimaran custom ketch rig mahogany boat built at boatyard in England. The boat is in the water, but is need of extensive repairs. Engine needs to be replaced or repaired (can change to electric engine for <$5000). Sections of hull and deck need to be replaced (about $1000-2000 in parts). Roller furling jib, mainsail, solar panels, inverter and charge panel, diesel tank, lots of other parts and equipment. This once beautiful boat sailed from Europe and most recently around the entire coast of Florida. Renovations were started but illness halted progress and boat became damaged at the pier. Pictures are prior to damage but show how beautiful she was and can be with a little work. Can be hauled out at Miller Marine or Bay County Boat Yard. Tow to new location or leave at existing slip for $300/month inc. water and power.

I wonder what's left to do on the Marples. At any rate, that's quite a bargain.

Re: Cheap Multis and Projects

Hello everyone!
Im new to this forum but stumbled upon this thread when looking for abandoned/discontinued catamaran projects.

So, i thought I might get some help trough here.
Were an marine conservation NGO looking for a monohull in steel or fiberglass over 47ft at a cheap price but completely let down/in need of co plete strip down and refit or a 39 or bigger catamaran in the same state as we are marine technicians and can save a lot on costs by bringing a cheap hull back to life.

Were able to travel to anywhere in the states, caribbean, central america or Europe so, if you know of anything that might be interesting please let me know as the ads that have been posted on this thread are all sold already or at least not available anymore.

Kind regards,
Isaak

It would be wise to spell out any specific must have features of a candidate boat. Along with budget. And putting a wanted ad in the boats F-S section.

Re: Cheap Multis and Projects

I love it when this thread pops up. I'd love to get my hands on that Corsair, but it's a little too far away. (Doesn't the interior kinda look like a 31'? It looks like it has the forward enclosed head, wasn't that only on the 31'?)

Also, did anyone see the Horstmann for sale in the classifieds for $15k?

Re: Cheap Multis and Projects

I'm not afraid of projects...actually both of my multi's are projects...but I wouldn't touch that F27 with a 10 foot pole...that Horstman on the other hand looks great...I would wonder why so cheap...what the project aspects are...ie: what are the issues...since the above water 7/8 looks so good...guessing there are hull issues...be worth it to haul and see...
