I talked to the guy on Craigslist about this 30' Iroquois. Here is some info he gave me:

"I thought it was sold but it was a scam. You are correct, for the right person. If you have shopped you know these sell for $25-30k or more once refit. This one needs some work but I feel it is priced to sell as well. Hulls are sound and she handled 3-4' seas and 15-20 knot winds and we were making 12 knots. We lost the main motor and the rudder post/s began to fail. It needs work on the inside too. I am a diver and we have been on the Cat Ppalu of Blackbeard Cruises several times in the Bahamas which was the inspiration for this bucket-list adventure. I had intened to sail it there. The shallow draft and speed it why I picked this particular boat. It just didn't work quite like I wanted."

The kick up rudders are wood and pretty simple. Generally the plywood case splits at the hinge. The centerboards are a little larger to work with. I had to do both.

They are fun boats. I found mine here on cruisers forum last year.

I would honestly be very tempted were I in the keys still. The iroquois Facebook group is very active, if anyone is interested, with one member having just done a full gut interior restore
That may be mine. Had a great summer cruising in it after a good amount of work last winter.

Re: Cheap Multis and Projects

He also told me it was a scam. Told me he was tired of the selling process and was going to take a little break and would contact me when he was ready to show again. Haven't heard from him since.

Re: Cheap Multis and Projects

Who said there where no cheap multi deals in Australia? Well after offering to help the owner of this stag horn and lichen encrusted Seawind 24 (with all the bits) Old mate gets an offer of $4000 and he takes it. Much to my relief

Yours is exactly the one I was thinking of . I was shopping for an iroquois earlier and we traded a few messages I've still got the mono I used in the Bahamas and looks like a work transfer to Philly, so my cat shopping is on hold for now, sadly. Glad you got a great summer in!

Looks like a good deal with a bit of work. But man, that third story deck needs to go. That is one ugly addition.

Not sure US$75k counts as cheap but this is probably the cheapest Privilege I've ever seen, it is 48ft and it is certainly a project Privilege 482 for sale, 14.66m (48'1"), 1992 | Boatshed

It might actually be easier and cheaper to build a new one from scratch.

It is listed as a Guy Beach. It looks like a copy of a Jim Brown. Any ideas on the make?
