Still, I would have rather seen boats racing that I could see myself sailing on

No idea on the op's question. But, I do hope the kiwi's win as it will give me a reason to start sailing West. I'd be kick ass to watch a cup race from your own boat in Auckland.

Re: Why would you blackout the America's Cup live streaming in the US

But the races *are* being televised in the USA. The cable / satellite channel "NBC Sports Network" is carrying them. Today my sat-TV program guide said "Equestrian" somethiong or other, but when I tuned in they had the AC races.

But I still watch it on YouTube, courtesy of the "Hola" un-blocker. No commercials.

Aw no, I want to want Elision crowing….

anyway I mean its a bit like their German scientists and our German scientists , Kiwis /some Ozzies are just the dominant factor in fast racing period.

Isn't there only 1 or 2 Americans on Oracle

Ah Ha! I shall not fail to check that in the future, I didn't even look because the AC wasn't listed.

rubgy is a hooligans game played by gentlemen whereas football ( soccer to you colonials) is a gentlemens game played by hooligans.

US contact sports, sorry , is there one, ????, I mean the padding , the body armour, woody Allen could play US football!!!!!!

Funny you should say that. At my son's high school football game yesterday, his teammates suffered a broken tooth, a concussion, and a broken collarbone. I would hate to imagine the carnage if they didn't have helmets, padding, etc.

Formula 1 on the water. The REAL contest, between the syndicate owners, is which is bigger, the wallets or the d*cks ?

If this is a case of race tech today, consumer improvements tomorrow, I cant wait to see Palarran up on foils

Re: Why Would you Blackout the America's Cup Live Streaming in the US

The America's Cup app was the only way I could watch it yesterday as well since I don't have TV. I would have been ticked off if I hadn't remembered I had downloaded that a long time ago and never used it.

For the "haters" here is one more opinion: I have been following the America's cup as long as I remember and watched every race that was taped, videod, projected, etc that I could find and I find this racing the best of any I have seen. The quickness of the boats and the ability to close a gap is something we just haven't seen before. I don't want this technological innovation to stop regardless of who wins.

And if I ever get a chance to go ride on one I would even be willing to look silly in that helmet.

Re: Why Would you Blackout the America's Cup Live Streaming in the US

I get a thrill out of watching the vessels compete, and the tech is phenomenal, they use more money in the R&D on AC vessels than on Navy destroyers. I read that somewhere in the past, cannot cite the source. I am perfectly content at 6 or 7 knots, I do like to see the big money mix it up. It is most fun to watch in a multinational tavern, so we can each cheer our own teams, and razz the other guys.
