I just read your entire blog "cover to cover". Yes, it's now 5 am and I probably should have been sleeping, but I really enjoyed it. Thanks for taking all that time sharing your stories and advice.

Hi Raku! I just released that you were umm not the standard old sailing fart that we have around here! I'll tell you what, I will help you fix up your boat if you will sail the rough weather. We can bring out each other's boat and gab away on the VHF . Any way, I thought your last comments on boat maintience were true, but I didn't want to offend my shipwrights so I said one third
Hang in there, and eventually learn to do everything! I am enjoying it!

I just had to write you and I may have before...seems like years ago I wrote someone who was on a boat and had raku in there name. It was years ago. I used to have a pottery studio in GA and do all sorts of pottery. We were on the boat years before I quit waking at night thinking I had to check the kiln...that's how ingrained it was in my nature. I am too old and arthritic to go back to it and I will always miss it but sailing around the world was also nice. I just wish I had kept some of my photos of my pots and my studio. I just had to leave it all behind at the time. I did do raku and made my own glazes and all. I may do some handbuilding and have a small kiln and I kept my underglazes for painting effects like old ladies do now I am one. I just think about it every time I see your name.
