That's funny because I was about to say "Couch Sailors" and they just posted themselves.

But definitely a +1 from me.

Sail Surf Roam is excellent. Super cool catamaran they built themselves and sailing some fantastic places like Tasmania, New Caledonia and Fiji.

Here's a video of the top 10 earners in sailing videos. Obviously they have to be pretty good at what they're doing. It also shows how hard it is to make a living doing this. https://youtu.be/zA8Ej2MEkdQ

It seems to me that since Patreon has come along they are all pretty homogenized.

Guess they found a formula that works. I heard somewhere that it takes 1 hour of editing for 1 minute of video. That's for the real high quality stuff, not just the people that hold the camera in front of their face and talk.

I've edited some of my GoPro videos from past vacations before and it is a tedious process. And my stuff wasn't half as good as Delos. Making a great 20-30 YouTube video that will hold the attention of people is not easy. So I'm glad these people have a way of profiting off their skills. It certainly helps me get through the work day and helps me have bigger dreams and goals. Which makes me work harder.

Yes its partly the formula and partly the pressure to produce a video every week to keep the viewers happy. I was surprised at how much money some of these people make.

Yup, agreed!

They seem to be good people doing good things. I primarily watch sailing videos for the sailing, not the drunkfest some seem to have stooped to. However, with these two it is a whole new spin on sailing videos and I enjoy seeing the fortunate helping the less fortunate. Good for them!

Adventure Adrift is doing the same, sailing with a purpose. They load their yacht with school supplies and diviey them up amongst schools on the Mexican Baja. Sorry is this has been mentioned before, I may have missed it.

The best music of any of the sailing videos is on Surf Sail Roam.

One channel that I started watching is Sailing Zatara, its pretty good. Family of 6 (Dad, Mom, 2 teens, 2 preteens) on a boat. I think they are doing a good job so far.

My personal favorite. This guy is VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE and very straight forward with his approach to sailing. Check out the step by step rebuild of his current boat MingMingII.

I was a little surprised by that too, but then I was even MORE surprised at how FEW of them are making anything that could be considered good money. Basically about five... out of how many different v-blogs we see? That is a VERY low percentage. Will that increase? Maybe. It's gong to take a big stick to dethrone the juggernauts like La Vagabond,Chase The Story, Delos, or The Wynns. I mean, how much can you watch before you reach for the clicker? Because for every one good one, there are ten that I don't get but thru an episode or two... if that.

Being in the TV business, I can tell you that editing does indeed takes a lot of time. Even if you are good at it and have a specific style you repeat over and over. Yes, you get much better over time, but scripting, collecting footage (and there are always more than one take), downloading and sorting it all, editing, rendering, then finding the wi-fi to upload is such a full-time job, it is hard to even think they do much else during the day.
