Understand this:
"But, the fact of 216 or 217 Reviews entering Does not change the size of icons, or anything else."

I take this and I propose a development. It is not enough to look at the screen width in millimeters, it must also consider the number of pixels.
For a given screen width, for example, 217mm, a 1014X600 screen and a screen of 2560 x 1600, the same characters appear on a different area of width. This explains that for the same icon the diamond for example, the size of the icon of the waypoint will be different.
Therefore, if the item options, of asking the width of the screen is good, this is not enough. It would also ask the number of pixels. And finally, what is important is probably the ratio of the width by the number of pixels. For example 271/1024 and 217/2560.
From there, it might be possible to implement automatic initial setting and we would no longer need:
- Adjust the font size
- Adjust the size of the different icons.

All this remains valid for those of us who have a good view. For users who need a personalized setting, cursors already present, and the one I wanted to see added, would still be useful.

- If I "left click" on the black cross, the icon bar becomes vertical.
If I click again on the black cross, the toolbar becomes horizontal.
In both cases, if I "right click" on the black cross, the storage icon on the toolbar reappears.
It seems to me that everything is normal ubuntu linux.

Re: OpenCPN RC 4.1.1301 Release

For information :
ASUS Eee PC, 10 inch, Linux Ubuntu 12.04, OpenCPN O411301

The icons in the toolbar are all the same size as the slider is between -5 and 3. For position 4 of the cursor, the icons begin to grow and become even greater for the value 5.

ASUS EeePC 10 inch, Linux ubuntu, O411301. Chartdownloader

It run Ok BUT, after download charts, the mouse cursor do not return normal. It stay as it is when it is downloading the charts.
(The normal mouse pointer is an arrow. During download, the pointer of the mouse is a small wheel which rotates, thus indicating that the software is busy.)

No. The only way to return to the normal mouse pointer is to shutdown O and re-run O.

Re: OpenCPN RC 4.1.1301 Release

Gil,

Does the mouse work as normal but just the circle cursor is displayed?

I know there is a call to clear the busy cursor when the options dialogue is closed or cancelled.

Re: OpenCPN RC 4.1.1301 Release

Transmitterdan,

1° Yes, the mouse run normally.

2° I just repeat the experiment by loading raster charts from Argentina.
The problem does not occur during the download. It happens when I click "Ok". This action closes the chartdownloader window. A new window will open. That in which, OpenCPN then automatically updates the database. It was at the end of this action the mouse pointer becomes the spinning wheel and remains there permanently.

Re: OpenCPN RC 4.1.1301 Release

Missing Journeyman SVG files.
Win10, VS2013.
The program is obviously searching for SVG files in ...\OpenCPN\uidata\journeyman\ but the installer didn't installed any.
I build the release, the package and then installed the .exe file but no ...\journeyman\ only ....\traditional\.
Extract from log file:
Code:

Re: OpenCPN RC 4.1.1301 Release

Hello Dave, hello Pavel, Hello Transmitterdan, All

ASUS EeeePC 1O inch, linux ubuntu. Dasboard and Grib plugin.

Here is a curious sequence of actions.

- Left click on the icon of the dashboard. The dashboard opens,
- Left click on the icon of the dashboard. The instrument panel closes and the toolbar moves.
- Left click on the icon of the grib. The grib plugin window opens and the toolbar return to the first place.
- Left click on the icon of the grib. The plugin window closes and the grib toolbar resume definitively its normal place.

See the different screen copies successively obtained.

I'm not ceratin that this sequence do appear a bug, but, nevertheless, it surprised me when I performed.

Yes, no one has yet volunteered to create the SVG graphic files for Journeyman icons. Also, SVG files for many plugins would be good to have as well. Are any volunteers with some graphic tool capability willing to take on this task?

Hi,
I have just built this version to make sure my plugin works with it. I am getting an assert error when starting OCPN which seems to be coming from the SVG code. I have attached a screen shot of the backtrace and here is the frame stack

Maybe 4.2 should be built with svg support disabled.

Re: OpenCPN RC 4.1.1301 Release

Hi,
With SVG turned off the asserts do go away. The CmakeList.txt hard codes for it to be always built, so have submitted a pull to make it optional, with the default as 'Off'.
