Re: OpenCPN RC(2) 4.1.1317 Release

@Cagney...

re:
linux sound deviceIndex

I think there may be some random element to the PA drivers on your system. Also, I found some unreliable code in the logic we use in OCPN to manage the device index. O tried to detect the default index, and overwrite the user selection. Didn't work right for your system, I think.

So, I corrected the code in OPCN. The index, if you have but one device, should be set as default for (-1). The value will not be overwritten on exit, so it should always work the same. If you have multiple output devices, then you must set the value appropriately.

Will commit to github tonight.

Thanks
Dave

@jon....

Re:
PlugIn hotkey combinations.

I did not actually look closely enough at the modern OCPN code to see that the PlugIns get the keycode first. That being so, I agree with your assessment.

Yes, I think we could clean up the core, and use some symbolic labels, to be more clear about what the core wants to process. It is spaghetti coded now. And then, by definition, a PlugIn may handle anything else that it wants to, first. Perhaps with a registry of some sort to avoid PlugIn collision.

I see no apparent problems with your proposed CTRL-SHIFT-nn set for your PlugIn.

Thanks
Dave

Right Click - Pick Center View OpenCPN bombs.

I cannot reproduce this. Any special conditions? Anyone else see this problem?

Thanks
Dave

It happened to me twice. Strange, same setup, perhaps with close and a restart of O, the Lat Long entry comes up. Worked this way 3xs.

Also
Quote:
Ctrl + does not open options window, seems to be using + to zoom.
I did not see the full command correctly CTRL + "," [comma] = It works!

Re: OpenCPN RC(2) 4.1.1317 Release

Rick...

Do you mean that on right-click->CenterView,
a) OCPN crashes immediately on the left click,
or
b) does it show the lat/lon boxes and then crash?

Re: OpenCPN RC(2) 4.1.1317 Release

Dave, sorry.
It did not work properly 2x's the first time I was testing.
It did work properly 3x's the second time I was testing.
What happened the second time:
Right-click >Pick Center View > Lat Long box came up.

It's working properly now!

Regarding:
Quote:
Left Click - No longer centers chart on that point.
I do not ever remember O doing this. Is this an error in the manual perhaps?
If so, I should change it!

Thanks.

Re: OpenCPN RC(2) 4.1.1317 Release

Rick....

1. If you recall, when O crashed on right-click->center view, did it show the lat/lon box, or did it crash before those lat/lon boxes were shown?

2. Left click centers the chart on that point. Always has, since OCPN day 1.

Re: OpenCPN RC(2) 4.1.1317 Release

Hi there,
there seems to be a small problem with clipping the collar for quilting. On my system (debian 8.4, GL enabled, on thinkpad) I reproducibly get the artifact as shown in the attached screenshot on the south edge of the chart (Maptech TDS). It only appears with certain zoom scales.
Cheers,
Juergen

Re: OpenCPN RC(2) 4.1.1317 Release

Dave, the first session, two tries, when it crashed each time. There was no message box with lat / long. It crashed immediately. Opengl and texture cache on I believe. I will verify this when I get up. 4:30 am here.

Re: OpenCPN RC(2) 4.1.1317 Release

Re left click. When I left click it does not center the cursor location on the screen. What happens is the cursor has grabbed the chart and i can move it around , same as hand. I rather like that!

What is intended? What do we want? The manual should be adjusted to reflect whatever it is.

Re: OpenCPN RC(2) 4.1.1317 Release

Hello Dave, hello Jongough,

W 8.1. With :
- opencpn_4.1.1317_svg-0b54e85-CorWMMToolico
- ocpn_draw_pi-0.4.631-win32.

With "Ctrl + b". OCPN draw set for its toolbar opens when using OCPN Draw

Multiple tests.

The effets seem to occur almost randomly. But still, what is certain is that:
- At the first use "Ctrl + b" hides the bar charts and opens simultaneously "OCPN Draw".
- If you close OCPN DRAW, while the bar charts is hidden, again using "Ctrl + b" bar charts will be displayed and "OCPN Draw" opens.

Re: OpenCPN RC(2) 4.1.1317 Release

Also, re special conditions when it bombed. 1. Most recent version. Svg-CorrWMM same as Gille. 2. ODraw and watchdog on. Odraw was most recent fetch using jon's complie with svg. WD was older version. Played with OD testing, but I believe I closed O after that. Did some other things and opened O for the purpose of testing key board shortcuts. This happened after running through most of the list of shortcuts in order.
I reported it and then fetched and compiled WD and installed that. Tried a few wd alarms. Closed O. Then tried it again when you responded and it worked!
