AAzevedo68...

Just curious about your reference to CE, that's all.

It's a very good program but unfotunately it's not free as opencpn. But it's a good program nonetheless.

Just checking: I can only reproduce this behavior if the cursor is near (within 20 pixels) the toolbar when the Mark Properties window is open. That bug is fixed in master.

This is intentional. You are not supposed to be able to activate tools while the settings window is open.

Dragging the point would actually destroy any changes made in the Mark Properties. Fixed in master.

This is correct behavior, similar to all other apps featuring undo that I know of, at least.. Undo/Redo moves linearly backwards/forwards in time. What object you are on when bringing up the menu does not affect this.

Thanks for your attention to detail and clear descriptions, btw!

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.814 Released

JesperWe,
I can certainly live with a single stack for "UNDO". I have many times accidently moved a WP when I only intended to select it; so undo is a very welcome command. It just seems weird to select one object and have an undo occur on another object. If I was using excel, had several worksheets, typed undo, I would expect the operation to occur in the selected worksheet, not the worksheet with the most recent typing.

This is a minor point; I'm shure there are much more pressing needs. I don't think that I have ever wanted to undo n-1.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.814 Released

As you say, a minor point. But ;-) ....For the sake of argument, I think a closer analogy would be to make an edit in one Excel cell, then in a second, then go back and position your cursor in the first and do an undo. The undo will occur at the latest point of edit, the second cell, not in the currently selected cell.

And yes, first undo is certainly the most important for exactly the situation you describe. The multiple stack I did because it was really simple to do once I had one level worked out.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.814 Released

I'm having some difficulty with chart groups.

I have three groups of charts, CM93, USENC, and USRASTER. I had no problem making a goup of CM93. But I had problems with the other two groups disappearing. To solve the problem I "added" a group the next level down in the directory structure, in this case District 9 ENC and District 9 Raster. I have no problems with groups disappearing since.

My second problem occurs when changing groups from CM93 (raster) to District 9(ENC). You get the grey chart. Zooming in then out will get rid of the dreaded grey area. Selecting different charts from the chart bar will give proper charts, but returning to the orig chart will still show grey. No problems changing between CM93 and District 9 Raster.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.814 Released

wdkester...

Regarding the problem shifting from cm93 to ENC:

Not really a "groups" problem. The real issue is that small scale NOAA ENCs often have "holes" in them, within which holes larger scale charts are expected to be used by the mariner.

If you look at US4MN11M in single chart mode, you will see what I mean.

This is a general issue with ENCs, and seems very prevalent in the Great Lakes. It's on the list to be fixed, in some undetermined fashion....

Thanks
Dave

Dave,
I see the holes that are causing the problem. Actually I remember seeing them before, Sorry to bring it up again.

I do notice something that may be of help. If you zoom out so that you see all of Lake Superior. I see several holes. If I pan North and South, as the hole approach the edge of the screen, it is quilted in. Pan the area back to the center of the screen and the hole reappears. So it seems to me that the quilter sees the hole under some circumstances and not under others.

AAAAHA, I think I see what's happening, new charts are being quilted, as opposed to holes being quilted.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.814 Released

Found this problem but its intermittent:

- Create a route and end it
- Create a second route and end it
- select Append waypoint for second route
- Then create a waypoint (for second route) on top of one of the waypoints of the first route.

Sometimes this works and you get a popup window that asks if you want to create the new waypoint with the information of the way point you are dropping on.

But sometimes you hear the beep as if the popup window was activated but the window does not appear. Worse still the CPU goes to 40% most of it OpenCPN. Only way out of it is to kill OpenCPN with the task manager.

Hello,

1° WMM : It run but it is not lisible.

2° WMM : The slider "transparency" in preference do not change anything.

3° FindIt : I confirm, the icon of FindIt plug-in is active but not visible.

4° Tab User interface in toolbox : The problem with interface user, the item "Status bar" and "Barre d'état" is not solved. This item is present twice.

See screen copy.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.814 Released

About my problem with the waypoints: Its hard to reproduce but try importing the attached routes. the first is from Marathon to Key West, the second from Key West to Marathon.

After importing right click on the last waypoint of Key West to Marathon and select Route/Track and select Append Waypoint. Then click on the first waypoint of the first route, Marathon to Key West. If you see the popup window, reply yes then delete the last waypoinyt and try it a again. sooner or later it will lockup the with 100% CPU and then after awhile you have to use the task manager to kill OpenCPN.
