Thanks

One issue is if weather routing caches grib records how do we invalidate it?

If Sean thinks this smart pointers isn't ready, I will make a PR solving other issues with a compatible grib record class.

re:
"The Ais target Icon is much smaller than in 4.8.0. Is that intentional ?"

Picture? And screen resolution/size info?

We are attempting to make all icons resolve reasonably on all platforms regardless of pixel density, at default settings This will require some iteration, I think.

Thanks
Dave

Screen:
1024 x 768 Pixels (270 x 203 mm)
96 x 96 dpi
(From KDEInfo Center)
O says the screen is 271 mm.

The smaller size is not in itself a problem for me, but I wonder how small the less important targets will be if I use "Allow attenuation of less critical targets....". Unfortunately I don't have enough with targets to test this.

macOS, retina MBP 13" - the small ones are 3mm real size. I personally have no problem with it.

Grib PI is effecting the tidal reading. First picture as it should be, second with grib overlay. With overlay all tidal icons indicate HW.

It's not a bug, it's a feature. I knew only changing gauge color wasn't enough but I haven't a better idea.

Now when gribs are displayed tide and current aren't using computer time but time from grib time line. If you play a grib you will see changing tide level same with current arrows.

If anybody has a better idea on how reminding user it's not current tide?

If you like this behavior make a setting button for it. I am sure a lot of people dislike that and want to disable it.

Cool! (Titter...) So you changed the tide bar background color from yellow to brown to indicate a difference when tide time is active. Not bad at all once you're aware of the function.
No, I've not a better, simple, idea. Maybe a two color diagonal striped shape, brown/yellow? But then it starts to be more complicated than necessary I suppose. On my screen the brown color is covering the blue arrows, so a less dominating color?
Thanks, nice function

I like the function Did-g. How does it play with OTcurrent?
Perhaps you change the outline colors as anothet way to signify the mode change.

Re: OCPN Beta 4.8.1 PreAlpha

At the moment, without having used this new feature extensively, that the option setting is to not turn on Tides and Currents by avoiding hitting those buttons, a very nice intuitive approach. Naturally, I would expect that if Tide and Current indications are shown when Grib is on, then when a grib is turned off, then the time of Tide and Currents would revert back to the standard.

This appears to be one of those intuitive improvements that is always welcome! Gerhardt and P_dub, please explain specifically what your problem's are with this arrangement, other than you don't like change. (Your option to turn it off is the display button.)

PS: I very seldom display Tide or Current concurrently with Grib files. This would give us a reason to do so and would give us a tool to at least sse what the tides are at a given grib time!
