Display of Ocean Currents

Using the services of SV SARANA (How to Get World-Wide Ocean Current Data via Email in GRIB Format-- OSCAR -- NOAA) a display of ocean currents is now convenient via email.

My description of this procedure is at OCEAN SURFACE CURRENTS

IMHO the display constraints of OpenCPN and the 'blob' of colors detract from the utility of using the GRIB feature of the program.

Other displays are shown for the Airmail/Viewfax and Expedition LT programs. I like this better

you are using the old grib, the new beta has more options or display. Also consider the climatology plugin which has even better ocean current display.

The 'new beta' grib shown on the plugin list has no options that improve the display.

What climatology plugin? Where is it listed? I am running Windows and all I can find is for Linux;

The weather_routing thread has links to the grib_pi.dll and weather_routing_pi.dll and Opencpn.exe that are needed.
