Has anyone here ordered parts from Discount Marine Supplies ? You can order on line but that is also the only way to contact them. No phone contact. So far they seem a little slow in responding re shipping or e-mail. They claim to be a large operation headquartered on the US east coast.

They were extremely slow, when I contacted them about a year ago. It didn't give me a warm fuzzy feeling, so I went elsewhere.

For what it's worth, they do give a phone number: 717-489-1458. Have you tried it?

I would call them first before ordering anything just to get a sense of their level of customer service. See how easy or not it is to get a hold of a human.

Its no fun having your emails or voice mails get ignored when there is a problem.

I tried that number after I got no response to my e-mails. What I got is an answering machine telling me they don't do customer service via phone...only e-mail. Fortunately it was not a large order and I used Google pay so MDS doesn't have my credit card info.

Based on what I've read here, I will not be using them. I wonder if they know these comments pop up when you search engine their name?

I found this when I did a Google search. I should have done the search before I placed my order. Never again.

Just to follow up.....After 4 weeks I never received the part I ordered but did receive an e-mail offering a refund. Checked with my credit card company and refund is done. Ordered the part elsewhere and received it in 4 days. Live and learn.

Just to offer a totally different experience. I live in Georgia and am not affiliated with this company. I am only a satisfied customer. Started doing business with them as I have worked on a Stambaugh Redwing 23 for the past 2 years. I have ordered thousands of dollars worth of supplies with them and am completely satisfied with delivery and service. I have on occasion ordered the wrong part and they immediately shipped my new part while awaiting the returned items. I notice the negative stuff is from years ago but I am happy to report an awesome experience. I wrote one report a year ago to offer a different experience than others here have had and this is a 2016 with a continuation of that same positive feedback. And by different experience I meant than the ones others were reporting. Nothing but great customers service for me.

I also have bought thousands of dollars of supplies, mostly West System epoxy products and Interlux or Pettit paint. Occasionally the odd hardware or items for my shore boat, large ball type fenders and so on. In Oregon I usually get items in 2 days with ground shipment. They say there are warehouses across the US, so I guess so.

Usually the cheapest West System epoxy, currently $83/gallon for resin. Local marine stores are over $100. One that gives me a "10% discount" is $98 after the discount. It pays to shop.

I've never returned anything, but then I know what I want before I buy it.
