Overall it looks pretty nice to me. I like your idea of wood behind the tv, or maybe a woven material similar to the bottom of the tray sitting on the hassock.

As stated above, any bearing shop can fix you up with bearings and seals, just rebuilt mine for $16. Take the bearings and seal with you, they will match them up.
