Can I Get Cans of Corned Beef in Cabo San Lucas or LA Paz Mexico?

I'm pretty close to Cabo San Lucas now but I'm almost out of cans of corned beef. I really don't want to be stuck eating nothing but tuna (which is widely available here) or worse, beans and other high carb foods. Anyone know where I can get a whole bunch of corned beef? I want to stock up so I don't need to buy more until April.

Also bags of "pre" cooked bacon and canned chicken would be great.

No fridge aboard so fresh meat isn't an option.

There is a Costco in Cabo. Don't know exactly what they stock, but very likely to have bagged bacon, corned beef, canned chicken, etc. There is also a Walmart.

Never looked for it when in BCS (we're definitely NOT fans)

Try Costco in Cabo or Mega in La Paz

(As much canned corned beef originates from Argentina, it might be available in Mexico.)

Yeah, I'll give the Walmart a look and possibly Costco. Hopefully the stores don't have boxing day madness like we have in Canada.

How much of it do you carry aboard? I love it. So easy to mix with whatever vegetables' are available. I usually have 30ish cans aboard myself.

There is always food available wherever you go in the world. You just have to change your diet and not try to eat the same things you are used to. Look at what the locals are eating and try that.

I eat it no more than once per year, on St. Patrick's day, which is a tradition. I would think most grocery stores would have it around then, not a popular as turkey on thanksgiving, but same idea. You should try it, but not from a can. Get it from the meat counter.

Corned beef is a beef brisket that is brined, and cooked in a crock pot. You can throw cabbage, potatoes, and carrots in there too.

You can do some other good stuff with corned beef as well. It goes nicely shredded up into rice with veggies when you want to just be able to dump food into one bowl and eat it. There are various interpretations of that (as well as corned beef hash) from different parts of the world.

For the traditional corned beef and cabbage, I've always preferred sauerkraut to plain cabbage.

75% of my ancestors are turning over in their Irish graves. lol

that’s exactly where I heard the name. Corned beef and cabbage. Think I have had that maybe once. Thanks for the information. Worth a try. In small quantities.

Mixed with green onions and mayo on white bread was known as a "dog food" sandwich in the Pacific. Not bad really and I get a craving occasionally, gourmet fare when compared to alternatives like "potted meat product" on pilot biscuits.

I think its much better with random veggies than tuna or chicken for sure. Perfect cruiser food. Grab whatever veggies you can locally from wherever you are, cook them and pan fry some corned beef and its great. certainly no thanksgiving turkey but nice because its versatile and lasts for years in a can and my pets love it. not sure if thats a good thing but...

I pretty much eat 2 cannot it per day with some vegetables thrown in and hot sauce, nutritious and lazy guy friendly. I had something like 100+ cans at one point on this cruise but it's hard to get in Mexico. Expensive too! 130 pesos for one can, that's like ten bucks Canadian!
