Very well said!!! That's one reason why I love sailing with the family. If we're all together and all on the water you can throw the phones "away" for the time you are aboard. Just wish I could do it permanently.

On the contrary. If these things didn't exist then the message would not need to be sent.

If he was using this to promote a string of videos then it would be hypocritical.

Don't know that I believe it though. Take a look at 'The Shallows' by Nicholas Carr.

There is no point him making it and nobody seeing it. The people he is trying to get across to inhabit these mass social media sites, some almost permanently, and he is trying to perhaps break their pattern of dependence upon them.

Not much point in targeting camping, sailing. outdoor sites as they are already sampling stuff away from a screen.

That is my take anyway, I only popped it up in here because I thought it was a well meaning little video. You can tear it to pieces or not, find fault or whatever. Go for it.
