Man tries to run to Bermuda in a bubble?

I don't know what to say about this one!

See that's the problem with this go now go cheap mantra. If only he'd had a true bluewater hamster ball with lots of teak he would've been fine.

Yep, some mothers do have em!

Just hit our Aussie news. I'm all for adventurers do new things and pushing the boundaries. But this twit didn't even have supplies for his attempt and no support vehicles. Just plain stupid.

I hope he is charged for the "rescue". We don't need copycats wasting our tax dollars.

I'll bet he didn't have a proper anchor, and definitely not enough chain

I agree he should pay for the rescue. If someone goes out reasonably prepared and has issues, they shouldn't be. But if you are an idiot and go out and are completely un-prepared, then you should pay for the costs of rescue.

Where could he put the deep fryer? We need to raise taxes to pay for all these stunts and subsidize an appropriate number of fryers. If he was set up right he could have had fish and chips.

Wonder if he stopped at the homeless camp in NSB like the other rescue recently.. He could have had grapefruits

Re: Man tries to run to Bermuda in a bubble?

I think he needed more electronics. That would have made it a safe voyage. GPS, AIS, chart plotter, radar , electronic butt wiper, all of things that modern cruisers want. Maybe next time he will go in a KISS boat. _____Sorry, just could not resist. ___Grant.

Re: Man tries to run to Bermuda in a bubble?

Well, here we go again with the 'make em pay' argument.

Well, I pay taxes and I don't mind paying for this twit to be rescued. Or the one that comes after him/her.

Doing search and rescue training scenarios all the time are just plain boring anyway.
