Well, that wouldn't work on my boat, and I kinda prefer diesel over gas anyway. No one actually likes the smell, but don't you guys on boats kinda dig a woman who smells like diesel and has grease under her fingernails? If not, what IS the point of this thread

Re: Single Men Living Aboard and Cruising... an honest look.
I think some who live aboard are different but I wouldn't go along with generalizations. I also think the sailboat liveaboard is sometimes different from the powerboater but then I see them crossover and fit right in. Anytime we start generalizing and stereotyping it becomes dangerous.
The thing is we aren't looking for companions for all sailors, but we just have individuals looking and individuals are all unique and the right partner will be too. I don't think most of us would be ideal matches for huge numbers of people, we just are for that one we're with.

Are we boaters the original "Dreamers" that is the immigration issue du jour?
We bring our homes into foreign countries, find ways to overstay our legal limits and tend to operate independent of local taxation and labor rules?

Golly...it's not like they should have a little time to clean up the -6,000 to 2000 year old situation that men had handed them?
The ladies that sail and those that own their own boats are highly competent humans interested in activities that bind us all: plumbing, mechanics and electrical.
I especially enjoyed sailorchic34's engine rebuild in her cockpit. And the lovely color she ended up with!

I always found it strange that containment of Diesel fumes or eau de diesel has never been a success.
Eventually it gets everywhere.

Diesel smell? What smell?
Try living on a nuclear powered Polaris sub for a couple of months, totally contained atmosphere.
You will discover all those atoms smell.

Re: Single Men Living Aboard and Cruising... an honest look.
I wonder what the difference between a male owned boat and a female owned boat is?
