The most stressful moments of a human life are spent coming down the birth canal....that was the very first time we screamed...holy s#*t look out!...

Re: What is Your Favorite Quote?

Recently saw this from someone on a different forum.

"I have no need or desire for luxury--a solid, clean, well-maintained boat is enough. I think that's a hard concept for the cranky folks to swallow. We're supposed to work and work and want and want and consume and consume in this culture. The more you have equals the more successful you are. Anything less must mean you're a slacker and/or a dirtbag. But dead is dead and it's difficult to see the scoreboard from 6 feet under."

"A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor" as mentioned previously
as well as "when fixing radios, never underestimate the power of PFM (pure F@#$ing magic) that one is attributable to the Chief of my first division.

I just made this up this morning:

Our books have gotten 5 star reviews on Amazon. Several readers have written "I never thought I would go on a circumnavigation, but when I read these books, I was right there in the cockpit with Vinni and Carsten"

Re: What is Your Favorite Quote?

The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at and repair.

Another one of Douglas Adams (I simply love the guy)

We have normality. I repeat, we have normality. Anything you still can't cope with is therefore your own problem.

Captain Russell's rules of sailing:
1. Never get in a hurry.
2. Never pee into the wind.
3. Never try and sail where the birds walk.

As you go through life
Two rules will never bend
Never whittle towards yourself
Nor pee into the wind
