Re: What is Your Favorite Quote?

"Marriage is like a deck of cards. In the beginning all you need is two hearts and a diamond. In the end you wish you had a club and a spade" No idea who to attribute that to.

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

"For the truth is that I already know as much about my fate as I need to know. The day will come when I will die. So the only matter of consequence before me is what I do with my allotted time. I can remain on shore, paralyzed with fear, or I can raise my sails and dip and soar with the breeze."
- Richard Bode

"There are those that stand at the shore looking to the sea, wondering, and there are those standing at the helm looking back at shore, knowing."
- Kurt Leisenfelder

23Some went out on the sea in ships;
they were merchants on the mighty waters.
24They saw the works of the Lord,
his wonderful deeds in the deep.

Re: What is Your Favorite Quote?

I don't think this one has been mentioned in this thread:

"Smooth seas do not make skilled sailors"

I think this or something similar is an African Proverb
