Farallon 29 down in Monterey that looks like it would be a heck of deal for somebody. No association. I'd like to look at it just because it's a smaller cousin to my boat!

Never seen it, but figured with inflation it fits this thread’s criteria.

Stamos 44
“ This boat is made to cross the ocean but needs some TLC. $39,000. ”

Looks a great yacht......there's a broken timber belting on the port side, the halyards look really mouldy, goodness knows what is happening in the anchor locker and causing that topside stain and the bowsprit gelcoat is a different colour from the topsides?
Still I think she would be worth a closer look.
Cheers

I have my Hunter 37 C, Cherubini for sale at $19,000 or best offer. It is fully equipped to sail to any island you'd like. Minimal costs to get in water right now.

Question about Irwins

There's an Irwin that I'm looking at purchasing and was just wondering what people's opinion of them are? It's a 46. Sorry about being a little off-topic here but I figured that you folks were a good resource.

Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds

My impression is that the bigger Irwins may be better built, but I am not sure what constitutes bigger(is it 44+ or 50+). Certainly early Irwins have a poor reputation. Of course if you want a comfy runabout, a friend recently picked up a 40' Irwin for $2k and happily daysails it(came with a 2012 Beta -500hrs) I would have bought it for the Beta

I disagree. If you buy a 40+ foot boat that has serious issues, it might be worse than no boat...

Purchase price has a lot to do with it. It's about $15K. Has Westerbeke with 20 hours, relatively new genset, B&G instruments, seems to be in fairly decent shape other than the one thing that makes it a project. It's going to need a new bowsprint. Frankly, I'm surprised that the mast is still standing. I'm considering booking a flight to go look at it.
