Currently being "viewed (in person)" by potential owners, and some others are waiting, "in the wings." We know, and admit it is a unique boat (it is #42 of 55 built - so it is really a custom built boat - not production boat), and it resides in a "niche" market. It is one of the last built in
Taiwan, before all production moved to
Thailand (early '90s).
Venerable cruisers such as the Pardys, have well documented the advantages of a
bowsprit (and the double end configuration), and the "Telstar"
keel gives it miles per day on passage equal to, or superior to, a Valiant 42! The max Roach
Mainsail gives more boost in light airs (and 2000 sf asymmetrical spinnaker) and keeps it moving when the V-42 would run an
engine. And as a bonus, the layout below is far superior when not on passage! [I am not "dissing" the Valiant, it is just so often this boat is referenced to V-42s as being less capable - and that is not the case.]
Laughing Buddha is equally comfortable on passage, at
anchor, resting on a
mooring, or in a slip. Well equipped for the world cruiser - or "prepper" in you (huge
storage - enhanced with our modifications in
Thailand, long
equipment list, etc.) - or use as a weekender/Air B&B, etc..
After
purchase, we lived aboard and weekend cruised the 'Bay for a few years, got familiar with the size, rig and capabilities, and when comfortable with the amazing capability (quite often more than the crew), ventured over the edge - never looking back. We always sailed as a crew of 2 and guests were just that - guests. The set up is for 2, which means - one on watch - one off, make it 30 days, no problem, more if need be. Easily stores provisions on board for 6 months if you like. Refer and
Freezer larger than many others, and R.O.
Water - you bet.
We know there is a buyer is out there - sometimes it just takes time...
One thing crossing oceans will teach you is - PATIENCE.
Thanks for asking.
Regards, Jim
