Weather Routing in 5.8 will not accept Climatology 1.6

I was happily doing routing in 5.6 with gribs and climatology. I upgraded to 5.8.4 and latest climatology 1.6. I get a message when clicking on weather routing icon: "Climatology plugin version not supported, no climatology data. Use versions 0.10 to 1.5".
The screen shows the climatology wind roses, but weather routing will not use climatology. WR is using grib files ok. Solution?

Try installing an earlier version of climatology, we need to increase the max version number for climatology.

Try downloading the appropriate tarball and import plugin.

I have a year old Dell 64 bit laptop W11.

I downloaded https://cloudsmith.io/~opencpn/repos...ball/v1.5.5.0/
which showed 196 downloads on 5th screen of Cloudsmith.

The file is in my Downloads directory.

The OpenCPN plugin install flashed a "successful" message. I closed and re-opened OpenCPN. I do not see anything like Climatology 1.5.5.

The 1.6 version is not enabled.

What am I missing?

If the rejection of ver 1.6 is something that is going to be fixed in an update in next few weeks, I can wait. I have ver 5.8.4-0+1637c28

Rick, have you actually installed it? Have you actually enabled it? This is a multi-step operation. No I am not sure it will be updated in 2 weeks. Possibly 8 weeks.


You must download the tarball for your OS version and use Option > "Import Plugin", then actually install the version and then enable it.


This is a search on Cloudsmith OpenCPN for "climatology 1.5.7 tarball" download your os version from here, and "Import Plugin"

I found "C:\Users\Richard\Downloads\climatology_pi-1.5.0.0-msvc-x86_64-wx32-10.0.17763-MSVC.tar.gz"
and Weather Routing is no longer giving the error message, so I should be all set. WR is not computing but that is almost certainly because I have been working on the boat.xml file.

Weather Routing plugin is now updated in the master catalog. This version updates the acceptable climatology plugin version to 1.6. There are no other functional changes.
