It was also mentioned some kind of diagnostic tool to check the messages send from the MFD when pressing certain functions. Can anyone describe the hardware/software for that?

Nope. Intersection (raymarine quantum owners, developers) seems empty.

This is not for a MAC, right?

Wrong, it has not been built and published.
Nohal added cmake files and configured this to compile for MAC in Jan 2018.
If we can get the
Quote:
error C2451: conditional expression of type 'std::_Binder<std::_Unforced,int &,sockaddr *,unsigned int>' is illegal
|
https://ci.appveyor.com/project/rgleason/rmradar-pi
errors fixed, then Ron may be able to compile RMradar_pi for OpenCPN v5.0 MAC and I will be able to compile for Windows.
BTW RMradar 2.1001beta for OpenCPN v4.2 - v4.8.8 still compiles with wxWidgets 3.0.2 and is still available.

Re: Raymarine radar plugin for OpenCPN
Well, that worked! Appveyor has provided a beta test file under the Artifacts TAB, here
this is a Windows OpenCPN v5.0 plugin compiled with wxWidgets 3.1.2, so please rename it as "rmradar_pi-2.1-ov50-win32.exe" and if you are interested in beta testing, please return the favor by reporting back here.
I think this can also be compiled for MacOS ov50 now because Travis has a green check too.
The changes are in my public repository under the "fix-error-c2451" branch. Here

Re: Raymarine radar plugin for OpenCPN
It does run in OpenCPN v50 for Windows, but I have no Raymarine Radar to test it.

Re: Raymarine radar plugin for OpenCPN
I tried this plugin (RMRadar 2.1) with my Raymarine Quantum 2 Doppler radar. The software found the right ethernet interface (10.22.x.x) but was unable to find the radar.

Re: Raymarine radar plugin for OpenCPN
Sorry, maybe the quantum 2 doppler is to recent. Thanks for trying it! This helps others know what works and doesn't.

Re: Raymarine radar plugin for OpenCPN
New boat, whole slew of new problems. However, I was finally able to try the Raymarine radar plug-in with Ov5.0. My Radar dome is an 18" HD digital color radar attached directly to a C125 MFD. I found the Raymarine cross-over connector and removed both ethernet connectors and plugged the into may Apple Time Capsule. Powered up the C125 and there was no difference in operation.
Booted up O5 and it "found" the radar, but I had no control over anything. Tried taking the C125 out of the mix, but it didn't work either.
You all said it wouldn't work as is, but at least I have a Ray system to try it out on.
