Re: OpenCPN Version 5 Released

Hello Dave,

I come back to this problem identified on 4.99 RC2. Problem I reported here:
http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...ml#post2852883

I spotted this problem on my Lenovo W10 family with a parallel installation of the O.488 version.
On this lenovo PC, I replaced the 499 RC2 with O5.0. It did not change anything.

Then I used my second PC HP360X on which I made a completely new installation of O5.0 (Nothing in parallel)

On this second PC, the second window is almost correct. But, it is too big and there is no possibility of reducing it in height.

Hmm, can't get it to do it now ... stick with the "bus error" message, that is repeatable. If I find out what I did to get that popup in gdb, I'll let you know.

Re: OpenCPN Version 5 Released

[Dave,
Are you interested into a major update World wide for the tide file?
There is a reductions to 120 constituents (a bunch of zero will always give zero). I have all of 3505 stations with there own constituents and some part of Northern Russia to finish. If so you can contact me with my email.

You are right.

But in the minds of users, it does not happen that way.

Re: OpenCPN Version 5 Released

Dave,

A problem with my GPS.

I have a new GPS that worked at each boot with a different com port. The last port assigned by windows was the "Com 9".
I chose to assign him a fixed com port number. (In the Windows options). I gave him the number Com 18.

I changed the com port number in the connection definition from 9 -> 18. This is Ok. The NMEA sentences are well visible. See screen copy.

BUT, when I make a right click on the route, the port com announced to send the data to the GPS remains the port 9. See second screen copy.
It should have automatically changed from 9 to 18, but it is not.

But, it add a second coamnd "Send to new GPS". ????

I complete by signaling that after shutting down the PC, and restarting the PC then O5, same problem. The contextual menu command remains the same, namely "Send to GPS on com port 9" while the com port used for GPS is now definitely "Com 18".

And as a note to anyone following the oesenc_pi content on this thread, the latest release by Dave completely fixed my pi/armfh issues. All is good

Re: OpenCPN Version 5 Released

Hello Dave,

A little bug ..

You have to display the menu bar to see it. Then open "Tools". We then see the command "Place a mark under the cursor".

1°)
This is the only place where we see this order. It does not appear in the general context menu obtained by right-clicking somewhere in the map area. In the general menu, there is a similar item but not with the same text (at least in French). Both commands use the same keyboard shortcut "Ctrl M".

2°)
If we use the keyboard shortcut "Ctrl M" then it's Ok. The mark is exactly at the cursor position.

3 °) Here is the little bug:
If we click on the text of the item then the mark is not exactly under the cursor. It is placed under the top left corner of the "Tools" list window. This is not practical since this point is at the very top of the screen and its position is not clearly known.

Re: OpenCPN Version 5 Released

Hello,

I did not check on another PC if this problem is recurring.

On my test PC, in the "menu/burger" right (chart panel options), all items are not translated.
For example "show tide stations" or "show AIS targets" ...
(see attached photo)

I checked on opencpn.mo via its .po (see photo), the item "show tide stations" is however well translated into French ...
However, I did not find the phrase "show tide stations" in this opencpn.mo.

I suppose the untranslated items are in another file than opencpn.mo.

Which file is it, I will make all the modifications if necessary...

Having carefully followed the evolution of O4.99, I also followed the translations carefully. And unless I'm mistaken, right now, everything is correctly translated.

In any case, just look at my screenshot attached to see that the item "Show tide stations" is correctly translated.

Whatever, "Ports de référence" is not ideal. Because some tide stations are not Port de références, but are "Ports rattachés" (At least for Merak56 data from the coasts of Europe).
But a text like"Ports de référence/rattachés" would be too long.

Re: OpenCPN Version 5 Released

Pour "Schnapsy"

At the level of translations, the O5 language file, for the French language, is the most condensed in terms of length of translations. It will be used to improve the language file, in French, of the version for androïd.
