What is the problem with watchdog specifically?
Watchdog 2.4.100.0 will not install - see the screenshots I sent earlier.

Very small point. Since there updates, I notice that Climatology, WeatherRouting and Watchdog all have the same icon in the Toolbar.

Kevin...
Not a small point. There was trouble in some data file uploads on Mac.

These three plugins now updated for all platforms.
Thanks

Re: OpenCPN Version 5.8.4 Released

I replaced my computer running Ubuntu 22.04 and installed OPCPN 5.8.4. Now the pypilot plugin 0.40.30.0 cannot be enabled. The log file says:

12:07:39.558 MESSAGE plugin_loader.cpp:271 Checking plugin candidate: /home/munden/.local/lib/opencpn/libpypilot_pi.so
12:07:39.558 MESSAGE plugin_loader.cpp:336 Checking plugin compatibility: /home/munden/.local/lib/opencpn/libpypilot_pi.so

12:07:39.564 MESSAGE plugin_loader.cpp:1261 PluginLoader: Cannot load library: /home/munden/.local/lib/opencpn/libpypilot_pi.so

Can anyone suggest how to fix this?

Re: OpenCPN Version 5.8.4 Released

How did you installed your OpenCPN? From PPA? From Flatpak?
Seems that your pypylot plugin was not build right ( it linked with WX libraries which not on Ubuntu 22.04 available)

Re: OpenCPN Version 5.8.4 Released

either compile them correctly yourself or have them recompiled by maintainers
But as a workaround try this blob.
Uninstall previous version and import this tarball ( rename to a file without .pdf)
Attached Files
File Type: pdf pypilot_pi-0.40.30.3-ubuntu-x86_64-22.04.tar.gz.pdf (389.0 KB, 25 views)

Thank you BlackSea. I tried that and got the error below:

12:04:32.817 MESSAGE plugin_loader.cpp:271 Checking plugin candidate: /home/munden/.local/lib/opencpn/libpypilot_pi.so
12:04:32.817 MESSAGE plugin_loader.cpp:336 Checking plugin compatibility: /home/munden/.local/lib/opencpn/libpypilot_pi.so
12:04:32.817 MESSAGE plugin_loader.cpp:1124 Plugin "/home/munden/.local/lib/opencpn/libpypilot_pi.so" depends on library "libwx_baseu-3.0.so.0", but the main module was built for "libwx_baseu-3.2.so.0".
12:04:32.817 MESSAGE plugin_loader.cpp:1143 Plugin is compatible by elf library scan: false
12:04:32.817 MESSAGE plugin_loader.cpp:344 Incompatible plugin detected: /home/munden/.local/lib/opencpn/libpypilot_pi.so

Since I had download the pypilot plugin from within OpenCPN I have to wonder why I seem to be the only one with this problem. I have tried uninstalling opencpn and re-installing from scratch but get the same results.

Re: OpenCPN Version 5.8.4 Released

Has your Ubuntu been updated recently? My guess is that BlackSea compiled the plugin on an updated system which is using (from the log file) "libwx_baseu-3.2.so.0". However, the plugin install is failing because you have an older version, "libwx_baseu-3.0.so.0".

It's these kind of problems why the Flatpak is being pushed for Linux by the maintainers.

The lib I have installed is: "libwx_base-3.2.so.0". Note the missing "u". I do not know the significance of this or what to do about it.

I re-installed using flatpak and got 5.8.4-2. All works fine now.

Good. That's the best solution. For what it's worth, I reread the error message and realized I made a mistake. The error isn't about what libraries are installed on your Ubuntu. The error is because (I think) the main OpenCPN program was compiled with one version of the library and the plugin was complied with a different version. So the plugin is not compatible with the downloadable install of OpenCPN.

Subtandard..

Back to the trouble with pypilot_pi on native O584, not flatpak:

Would you by chance be using Wayland instead of X-11 for your graphics backend?

Thanks
Dave
