LE/V - Law Enforcement Vessel
PC/V - Pollution Control Vessel
S/V - Sailing Vessel (not the same as Vessel Sailing nor Vessel Under Sail!)

The S/V is universally understood, I think.
I invented LE/V and PC/V when coding the
AIS extensions. These are short forms, so some 4 characters max... I don't know if an official abbreviation exists here... The user can always consult the Properties Dialog to see the full form, so nothing critical.
YAT is the official code for pleasure vessels used by the ITU - the
Radio Authority.
Port hand vs. port side - it is copied from AIS specification verbatim, but I do see a difference. A vessel has port side and starboard side. The channel has port hand marks and starboard hand marks.
