Yeah maybe it was an error to update so quickly...

Can't see any of the plugin I downloaded and installed...

I see that you renamed OpenCPN to "OpenCPN 2"

The install will put the plugin in the OpenCPN application.
Rename OpenCPN 2 to OpenCPN and reinstall the plugin.
Then it will be there.

The GateKeeper of macOS Sierra (10.12.x) and macOS HighSierra (10.13.x) does not allow anymore to install software from unknown sources, that is software not signed by a developer ID.

What you write is not true, as we both know.
It does not allow installation of unsigned application without additional user interaction, as explained in the page linked. If you have some problem with the wording used in the instructions, we as usually wait for your suggestions for improvements.

I setup my opencpn and I set up the GPS receiver and everything looks great except it does not put my boat on the charge and someone please help me do that thank you very much

Look lower left status bar at the coordinates. That's where it puts the boat.

So I'm on the same port bu353s4. On the toolbar I have a red boat icon and on the screen I have a green boat icon but it's a thousand miles south of where I am. I press f2 and nothing happens.

If the boat symbol on chart is red and the GPS status icon is green you'd have received GPS data. OCPN will position the boat symbol on the position GPS reports. A GPS will normally not be wrong unless in a "shop mode" or other simulation mode??
