Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.1105 Released

I have gpsd installed using /dev/ttyUSB1

previous versions of opencpn had a different dialog and I will check
further but I was using network libgps to get data from the gps

Basically I dont know what to enter into the dialog?
I have selected the network radio button but what goes into the
fields address and port?

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.1105 Released

First, thanks to all working on this project.

I just compiled (for linux) from the latest master and I love it. I specially love the NMEA multiplexer. Well done.

I also tested uploading routes using the Garmin host protocol. It works. (tested on a Garmin GPSmap 76)

I just wish O would remember the last device used for a route upload.

Thanks again.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.1105 Released

hmm

I had to revert to stable 3.02 as not getting data from either of my two gps
xgps and navit are both working so I do not think gpsd is an issue

garmin montana
sirf 4 gps puck BU-353S4

I am going to try on another fc17 system

There is a bug in the gpsd handling of sirf based gps:es in the latest beta. This is fixed in the master and will be included in the next beta.
Discussed some where, earlier in this long thread.....

After you click the Add Connection button, try to increase the size of the Options window manually (vertically). Then, magically, in my case (Win 7 32), the missing information, the Properties area, the buttons etc. appear at the lower part of the enlarged window and I can add my new port. The same is necessary when I try to edit an existing port.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.1105 Released

Referring to HappySea.. about NMEA sentence filtering:
Some more test:
(The coloured NMEA window is a huge help but I also trust it without further check if colour indications are correct for the pgm behaviour.)

Conclusion: If I use the check boxes in the “input filtering” only one choice is possible. If I check more then one all are filtered out.

Test sequence:
NMEA sentence Filter. “Accept only sentences” checked
Checked GSV > Ok Only GSV is shown the rest are filtered
Checked GSV AND GGA (e.g. two or more but not all) > All sentences are filtered! (Including GSV and GGA)
“Check all” by check box. > All sentences are filtered.
All Unchecked > None are filtered e.g. all are shown. (Next time the filter check box is opened all are rechecked by the pgm.

NMEA Filter. “Ignore sentences” checked.

In principle the same missed logic as described above

Note: My English is not at all native. Please come back if I'm unclear.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.1105 Released

Hi
Translation to Swedish. Not a prio one task but maybe good to have.
The one who did the table have made a tremendous job. To the most it's really accurate. Just some small comments for this beta to be forwarded to the translation table creator.

In the new connections preference window, see pic below, the header for [Com] port fields has got the word for port/harbour instead of the more accurate port/door.
A small translation table:
English = Swedish
1. Port = Babord. > Example, turn to port.
2. Port = Hamn. > Example, harbour. Now used in the beta.
3. Port = Port. > Example, a communication port as for this case

In this particular window the Swedish word "Port" could be used instead of "Hamn". (Some words are obvious also still in English and not covered in the actual table?)

Hälsningar/Håkan.

Thanks for the compliment

I have committed an update for the Swedish translation of the new data port settings. The "Port" issue however is a bit tricky to resolve. Basically we can only have one translation for each original text.

So to fix that the original needs to be updated to something else. "Data port" ? Dave ?

Jesper

If I read this -> GNU `gettext' utilities, right there ought to be a way to solve this with gettext.
Other languages may have similar problems, but with different words, so it could come in handy.

By the way; there is a another not translated part of the new configuration interface in the Tab "User interface". The last row "Confirm deletion of tracks and routes" is not translated.

That and all other new texts were part of my last commit.
