OPEN CPN Chart install.

I have upgraded to a PI 3 due to being unable to get open plotter running on my old PI2. I have installed NOOBS and it all seems to work fine but for the life of me I cannot get OPENCPN to find the charts, I have CM93 charts and placed them in the /home/pi/chart directory but they don't load. The only thing I can think of is perhaps they need to have all the charts in no subdirectories?? They are in in sub directories and work fine that way on my old PC. Any step through help or point me in the right direction would be appreciated.

Please excuse my ignorance Dave but what is and how do I get the "LOGFIILE"?

Click on the question mark in the tool bar and you will see that there the configuration file and the log files are mentioned.
And their complete address in the directory.

Please attach the log file (and change the name to opencpn.log.doc).
The latte to overcome size restriction of the forum.

OK, the logfile is attached correctly, but it does not show any chart installation activity.

Please try to install the cm93 charts, then submit the logfile again.

Thanks Dave, I did say up front that I was very PI illiterate, I think the chart install part is the part I am stumbling on because for the life of me I cannot find information on how to do that. I have looked and looked but just can't seem to work it out. What have I missed?

Thanks again Dave, I have been through that wiki, i have no idea what I am doing wrong, I have the charts all loaded into a subdirectory under /home/pi/charts, I cannot see the subdirectories from there in menu, I have checked that they are there on the PC but they don't show up on the Rasp PI screen.... I am sure there is something basic that I am missing but for the life of me I cannot find it.

Picture would help. Even a shot with a phone camera, if readable, will help us understand. Or the corresponding screen dialog on a PC, with description of differences.

The charts are all in sub-directories from the "Charts" folder.

What I am thinking is my lack of linux knowledge. I have made and loaded the subdirectory using a PC, should it show up on the PI os?

From this screen, click "Force Full Database Rebuild", and then click OK.
Then copy and post the logfile.

Dear K,

It works here. Simply remove Charts and load CM93 folder.

Then do database rebuilt.

It is better not to combine several charts system. Only CM93.
