Re: ODraw - beta 1.1

The Guards work when the boat is moving. They stay attached to the boat and turn with the boat.

There are a few little issues with display.
When you zoom in it takes awhile for all guards to rewrite.
Sometimes it is quite awhile...

When you pan the zoomed in display such that one of the guards goes partially off the screen, the entire guard disappears and is not rewritten to the screen.

Yet some guards seem to work fine when part of them is cut by the screen.

Do not fullly understand all of this, but the guards should stay visible even when cut off by the screen...

Re: ODraw - beta 1.1

Rick,
What is the patch level you are working with, the current one is 1.1.5? Could you also provide the ODnavobj.xml file you have so that I can create your GZeds here and see what it does on my machines?

Can you see how much cpu is being used when you move around the screen and the redraws are slow? Does the usage go up? Is this the same with OpenGL on and off? I want to understand which part of the drawing may be taking time.

Thanks
Regards
Jon

ocpn_draw_pi-1.1.5-win32

The ODnavobj.xml is missing these guards. I will recreate and make a package for you and upload.

Re: ODraw - beta 1.1

Rick,
I think I have found one issue with the GZ not being draw when the ODpoints go off of the screen. I have just put up patch 1.1.6, give that one a go and see if it improves things.

If you have the GZ set to persistence - Never or Crash it will (should) not be in the ODnavobj.xml file.

Regards
Jon

Re: ODraw - beta 1.1

Recreated GZ in Opencpn V4.2.1 (see attached)
Question: When we create should we be assuming the boat is heads up? North?
Then start the VDR file (see attached)

This is basically a part of Hakan's file.. for location.

Re: ODraw - beta 1.1

Rick,
I am having trouble loading your ODnavobj.xml file. It appears that at least one GZ only has one point. They should all have two points. Can you tell me how you created these? I have tried deleting a single point from a GZ but this results in the GZ being deleted which is what I would expect.

There do seem to be some issues with selectability of GZ's, with some of the selection areas not being coincident with the drawing of them. I am looking into that.

Regards
Jon

Re: ODraw - beta 1.1

Don't know how I made it a single point. The ODnavobj.xml does not seem to persist. If I close Opencpn the previous guards never seem to be saved. I have persist selected.

I just was able to start the VDR file and create the Guard Zones on the fly whiile the boat was moving!!! Cool.

See attached created on the fly. I exported it to gpx.

Re: ODraw - beta 1.1

Gilletarom,
I have not created a windows install version for 1.1.6 as I am still working on fixing some stuff up. I have using OCPN 4.2.1724 for my testing at the moment. When I get a couple more issues fixed I will create another windows install.

Regards

Re: ODraw - beta 1.1

Hi,
I have just put up patch 1.1.8 of OD. This now includes Guard Zones in the JSON messaging, i.e. if you set a guard zone alarm in watchdog you will be able to select the GUID of a guard zone and this will now be checked. The watchdog plugin guard zone can use both Boundaries and Guard Zones for alarm purposes.

It is now possible to turn off Boundary Icons. This will stop the icons being displayed and can be done from the right click menu or the properties dialog for the Boundary. There is another setting on the Boundaries tab of the OD Properties dialog that allows setting up of the default (currently set to show).

If you are going to try the watchdog alarms you should get patch 1.9.046 as there is a small fix in there for verifying the GUIDs that are pasted into the boxes.

I have created a windows install for OD, you will find it here:

Re: ODraw - beta 1.1

Hi,
Here is a windows install package for watchdog (1.19.046) which should allow you to work with real guard zones as well as guard boundaries.

did not post screenshots here, on the other page.

I found the two new versions of OD and WD. successful installation O 4.4.0 beta release. I have not had time to test. Maybe tomorrow if we stay in port because the weather is not very good.

I saw that there were new items translate. I would have the last pot file.
