Raymarine and garmin nmea2K?

I have started rewiring my contessa 32 I am wondering the best way to handle multiple manufactures NMEA2K connections. I have raymarine wind, speed, depth, i50/i60 displays. I have a garmin gpsmap 743xsv chart plotter/ fish finder. I also have garmin AIS 800 and a standard horizon 1850 vhf. I bought a garmin backbone starter kit and I'm realizing they don't plug into each other. Currently I have 3 garmin NMEA T connectors on the starboard side. 1 each for vhf and AIS. And the 3rd is my power T. I have a termination plug at one end of these 3 T's. I am going to use an extension cable to get to the port side of my boat where the garmin chartplotter and W,S,D will come together and the 2nd terminator plug will be installed. I know this is long winded but what should I use to connect the port side. Raymarine cables that came with i50/i60 to garmin NMEA?

Raymarine sells a seatalkng to devicenet (nmea 2000) adapter for connecting an Seatalkng backbone to an NMEA2000 backbone. Part# A80675.

Re: Raymarine and garmin nmea2K?

you can buy a bunch of adapter cables for each device. or you can buy 1 adapter cable to convert the backbone, and then have half a stng and have an n2k backbone, this only works if all the stng stuff is in the same place at the end of the backbone. otherwise you'll have to keep adapting the backbone back and forth throughout the boat.

Is this what would solve this and make it compatible?

There is a very good description of the various Seatalk protocols and compatibility requirements on the Actisense website [Understanding different protocols - SeaTalk1 & SeaTalkNG]

That is exactly how you would do it. The only real difference between NMEA2000 and seatalkng is the connectors and an extra wire in the seatalkng connectors for compatibility with seatalk1.

Thanks Captain Bill! I think I'm square now. Appreciate everyone's help and input.
