Re: Christmas gift ideas for cruising wife
Seriously though. Might be a bit late but what about one of those Milwaukee right angle winch drills?
I am pretty sure it would be favoured by any sailing lady who would rather not have calluses and broken nails.

Silk pajamas. Elegant, cool in the tropics, warm in the cooler places. Very well appreciated. Not inexpensive.

Remembers and throws in your face at every opportunity?
After wasting thousands of dollars on unwanted gifts over the years, my wife and I just exchange cards. If there's something we want or need, we just buy it during the year.

Christmas gift ideas for cruising wife
Many years ago , the wife and I decided Christmas was for the kids and didn't "do" Christmas for each other, but as they get older and move away, I believe I am going to have to re-start buying her something.
I actually bought her two things this year, the Nikon Stabileyes 14 x 40, and an autoprop. Not as bad as the dishwasher, but not as good as jewelry apparently.
If your considering a pair of Binos, Defender has the Stabileyes for less that $800, as a refurb.

I think a ring made of a rope/boat design, simple or more exotic is a lovely touch. There are many jewelers that make specialized boat themed designs. Following that earrings, a necklace of the same idea. Commemorative. Small, easy to pack and hide.

Re: Christmas gift ideas for cruising wife
Here are some ideas from me, the wife:
Sailing gloves, protects the hands
Fleece sweatshirt
Henry Lloyd foulie jacket
Fancy binoculars, yes I like that idea from above
Ipad, iPhone, nice digital camera
Sailing shoes
Rigging knife, I carry mine in my foulie jacket
Tilley hat, I love mine
Hobby stuff, if she likes to paint, a small paint set
A piece of small art, a carving or whatever, to display on the boat if she chooses, from your travels

Re: Christmas gift ideas for cruising wife
One year I bought my wife a Spot locator beacon. She loved it. Solved the problem of letting family know where we were - especially a worry wart daughter.

Re: Christmas gift ideas for cruising wife
Great ideas and some funny stuff here, thanks folks. We already have a really nice set of stabilized Steiner binocs, I like the massage ideas but am not sure where we'll be and when so may have to add that once we're there. For the record I went with a very nice warm lined, zip up fleece hoodie and I'm pretty sure she'll really enjoy it.
a64, like you we really stopped the whole gift exchange things years ago but I liking that less and less as the days go on. That combined with our first Christmas aboard, and away from our family and friends...in the Bahamas made me want a little something silly to surprise her with. I know the evenings will be cool in Abaco in January and she's pretty much freezing when the temp drops below 82 degrees, so hoping it will be good.
I'll probably also end up cooking a big breakfast, fresh ground coffee and a day of facetiming with friends and family...oh and copious rum drinks. Hoping we have some fun neighbors in the marina for Christmas day, before we head out and enjoy a couple weeks at anchor.
Anyway, love this group. Thanks all for the inspiration.

Re: Christmas gift ideas for cruising wife
Great choice. Plenty of chilly travel days ahead if you two bring the boat back to Texas.
For the future, think along these lines....
You know, for when heading to the Caribbean.
Enjoy your boat, and Merry Christmas. Last year, Christmas Day for us in the Berry's -
