Re: Hawk For Sale
Evans, is that a picture of an E-scow on the bulkhead in front of the laptop at the "writing desk"?

Re: Hawk For Sale
They are sweet boats but I'd defiantly pay an extra $50k for this one in mint condition:

Who cares if the boat has a "Mastervolt 24/50 automatic battery charger" when he doesn't even mention the word "pump" (as in "bilge pump").

I don't see the boat bashing but he does bash about everyone who is going to read the listing. It's quotes like this that are so arrogant it kills me.
The so called today’s modern world cruiser would have a difficult time getting to St. Michaels on the Chesapeake Bay. And if they are really adventurous, they do Caribbean 1500, with much needed repairs after just some 1700 miles. Our offering is a different animal.
Like it's really hard to sail the Chesapeake in the grand scheme of things. But the boat sounds great and not listing bilge pumps seems normal, like not listing water pumps.

I've dealt with that guy in the past. Very arrogant. I would never buy or sell a boat through him.

Re: Hawk For Sale
Hawk sold quite quickly . . . She is going to Alaska. Very good next owner . . . A commercial ship engineer - unmarried. Might be going by NWP.
He also looked at Bernie's Samoa and said it's key weakness was that you could not get access to most of the equipment to service them (I have not looked at the boat so can't comment on It).

Rouge Wave sold our 44 ft Mason to the first party that looked at it. Gone in 4 weeks and at a very good great price a couple years ago. IMHO, I think they could sell ice to Eskimos. We also found them generous and charming to work with.

Re: Hawk For Sale
Bought our big boat from Rogue Wave.
When we were looking I whittled our short list down to just three or four boats, two were from Rogue Wave. Generally they have high quality listings.
Kate met me one day for a survey, two feet of fresh snow, took me a half hour to shovel out a parking spot and a path to the boat. But she met me there, no quibbles.
Yeah, some balarney on their descriptions, but they ARE used boat salesmen after all. Kinda like getting your feet wet when you go swimming, it's expected.

Re: Hawk For Sale
Evans,
Congrats and condolences.
I'm sure she will be missed.
Good luck with your new ventures.
Just don't EVER say your too old, cause I'm older than you and have a lot of catching up to do.
