Yes, today's message in a bottle.

Just like the automated messages I receive at least once a day on my phones.

Re: Message-in-a-Bottle - Launched / Found?

Once on a passage between Galveston and Key West, friend and I finished a bottle of Jameson, the only bottle on board, we were somewhere in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico. About 250 miles offshore. A gentleman called me months later and said he had found my bottle of Jameson. I thought he was crazy as I had forgotten about the bottle. He took a picture of the note and sent it to me. I am attaching it here

Re: Message-in-a-Bottle - Launched / Found?

“Did this message in a bottle really come from the Titanic?”

A team of researchers, at the Université du Québec à Rimouski, are working to determine if a letter that washed up on shore, in Canada. was actually written by 12-year-old Mathilde Lefebvre, more than a century ago.

“I am throwing this bottle into the sea, in the middle of the Atlantic. We are due to arrive in New York in a few days," the letter reads. "If someone finds it, contact the Lefebvre family in Liévin."

The message, which is signed "Mathilde Lefebvre," was found by a New Brunswick family, in the sands near the Bay of Fundy, in 2017.

Beautiful hand writing for a 12 year old. Maybe a small indictment to our schools today, but it would be really neat if it were from the Titanic. I would think there's a list of all passengers that boarded and it wouldn't be that hard to see if this little girl was on the ship or not.

From the link:"He said it is known for a fact that there was a passenger on the Titanic named Mathilde Lefebvre.
"She was the daughter of Franck Lefebvre, a miner from northern France who went to try his luck in America," Beaudry said.

She was.
It is known for a fact that there was a passenger on the Titanic named Mathilde Lefebvre.

The question they are studying, is the letter’s authenticity - is it a forgery, or a hoax? [as explained, in the article]

And this was the song that the band was playing on the deck of the Titanic when it was sinking:

Is that so they can hit them with a littering fine as earlier posts suggested?

Re: Message-in-a-Bottle - Launched / Found?

In would hazard a guess that the authenticity could best be proven or disproven by the bottle or parchment. Probably not 100% to everyone's satisfaction.

Re: Message-in-a-Bottle - Launched / Found?

A teenager threw a message in a bottle into the Pacific Ocean. 9 years later, a B.C. cleanup crew found it
