And Jimmy Buffett doesn't even rate.

Ive heard this term before and quizzed my teen and slightly above teen children on this. They had all heard of the term Yacht Rock, and what it is considered...

Yacht Rock is the music type that is listened to by those who are wealthy and old enough to afford a yacht. Usually a soft rock type of music. Christopher Cross, CCR, Eagles, etc. Most of the music is considered easy listening from the 70's and 80's

For context, I'm pushing 52. My wife occasionally listens to 'Yacht Rock' on SiriusXM. (Incidentally, while the article may not include Jimmy Buffet, the SiriusXM 'Yacht Rock' channel plays PLENTY of JB).
