When River Vandenberg was at the west beach, in Belle River, this fall, he found a bottle. The kindergarten student, from St. John the Baptist Catholic Elementary School, took that bottle to class. He soon learned, the letter inside was written by a former student [Makenzie Van Eyk, nee Morris], of the same school — more than a quarter of a century ago, in 1998.
