Rotation plugin not working in 2nd canvas

Rotation plugin works only in left canvas
Selecting right canvas and activating Heading UP does not work
Also plugin icons get a black rectangle

Re: Rotation plugin not working in 2nd canvas

A lot of these plugins are not aware of dual canvas mode. It would be nice if the core opencpn handled this so the plugins don't need to know about multiple canvas.

I think it would require another toolbar for plugins of the second canvas. Then it would be possible to have the same plugin on both canvas.

Sean...;
Not really practical. For example, one does not want GRIB or radar overlay to paint on both canvases automatically.
If a plugin is not "multi-canvas aware", it is rendered on the left (primary) canvas only.

Re: Rotation plugin not working in 2nd canvas

It would be simpler if the plugin did not know about multiple canvas. Sometimes I want either or both canvases for a particular plugin.

What if the plugin config allowed plugins be assigned to left/right or both? So the plugin itself doesn't notice, and the core handles this setting in a generic way easy to configure for all plugins.

Otherwise, each plugin will need to be multi canvas aware, and how will this work when there are several more canvases?

Re: Rotation plugin not working in 2nd canvas

I wanted to add that if there could be a separate instance of the same plugin in different canvases it would allow more functionality.

Re: Rotation plugin not working in 2nd canvas

I think for this plugin, it would be better if implemented in O.
A setting in preferences to choose wich centence is used for Course UP mode.
So user can select HDM, HDT, HDG or COG for this mode.
