Re: Coffee maker...

Everyone knows you stir up and down... Geeze... Clockwise or Counterclockwise, what are we, savages...

In all seriousness for people who read this thread.. Buy an Aeropress, you won't be disappointed.

Hmmmmm.....

Are you stirring the pot?

I think you might have turned this into an anchor discussion.

I do not stir the cream into my coffee...

I pour the cream into the cup THEN the coffee is added to the cream! THAT is the proper way to make a cup of coffee with cream! Any other way of mixing coffee and cream is WRONG!

Dan

I always stir clockwise.

I hear Aussies stir anti-clockwise, it's a hemi-sphere thing.

Re: Coffee maker...

I was looking for a manual coffee maker for future use on a boat. On the advice of a friend who has used the aeropress and then the Rok outlined below, I bought a Rok.

It gets delivered next week- we'll see.

Re: Coffee maker...

Just so people don't get too worked up over the possibility of cholesterol Increasing as a result of consuming coffee it is worth noting that if you Google the Hunt 2 Cholesterol study that tracked thousands of participants over a ten year period you will see that the rsk of death from all causes decreases when cholesterol is higher than the so called ideal. There are other studies as well that have found that those who live the longest generally have high cholesterol. So feel free to enjoy that coffee.

Medium-High Cholesterol is not a danger but it does bring great returns to the Statin industry.
High sugar&grain diets are the biggest threat to our lifestyle - leading to weight gain and heart disease.

I love my fresh ground coffee but have it in the morning so it doesn't affect my sleep

I'm looking at one of these for kayaking/backpacking/camping use...not so space constrained on the boat.

Looks great. But $200 I'll have to think on that.

Re: Coffee maker...

Like many on here, I really enjoy my coffee and I don't mind making a bit of extra effort and, in the case of a boat, taking extra resources to make a great coffee.

I'm planning on on having one of these on my boat:

yes i would too. It came on sale for a $100, so I couldn't resist. Still a lot more expensive than an aeropress, and requires a haro type conical grinder.

However I'm a bit of a coffee fanatic- I hope it makes a good shot!
