Re: Great Works of Art!

A few more. I am assuming the bulls are to tow the boats off the beach. Love these paintings. I've been to the beach in Valencia where these were painted, hope to return again someday.

Wow, thanks for sharing with this! I've never seen such type of art before but it looks really beautiful, is it a modern style in it yeah? If yes, it's definetely that type which I like among many other types of modern art which I simply don't understand
And I'm really curious how he makes these works...

https://www.dezeen.com/2016/09/16/ma...festival-2016/

"French designer Mathieu Lehanneur has convincingly sculpted blocks of black marble to look like the sea for an installation at the V&A museum. To mimic the rippling effect of the sea, the designer used complex 3D software.
...

A machine then sculpted and carved the four pieces of marble before they were joined together and hand polished to give the impression of water.
...
The ocean has become a recurring theme throughout Lehanneur's work. He has used the Liquid Marble technique to create a number of pieces, including a green-coloured pool of marble installed in the courtyard of French chateau and a sculpted aluminium table."

Drawing no.02 - Sanday, North Ronaldsay, Papa Westray - Orkney Islands, Scotland. By J. Frede

This guy is great. He made this sort autonomous drawing machine that records voyages by input of the boat's motion. Great stuff! You can see more here-

Re: Great Works of Art!

Hylas, from whom the yacht builder derives their name, was one of the Argonauts.

The iconic painting "Hylas and the Nymphs" by John William Waterhouse has been in the news recently when it was removed from an art gallery in Manchester to provoke conversation about women in art as a part of the #MeToo movement. Due to public outcry it has been restored.
