Re: Show Me Your V-Berth

I bought the fireplace used 25 years ago( I've had it in 4 differnt boats now) and have never found out who made it; no name anywhere on it. It has a drop in grill so I can cook on it(which made more sense when I had it on my 25' sloop, opposite the galley) and the bottom part comes out to empty or to take to the beach as a hibachi.

Then muscled the damn thing in(this was the hardest part), put the old cover back on and bought some real nice sheets from Bed Bath and Beyond for it.

The thing sleeps like a dream.
One of the best ideas i have seen in a long time. You can get a custom mattress made for somewhere in the $2,000 range or do this for less than $300. How useful this Wide World of Webs can be.

Re: Show Me Your V-Berth

Havent got a photo, but on a smaller 24 footer I used to own we added netting along each side. Its ugly and looks messy but is great for storying your bedtime books, Jumpers and midnight snacks

We have a 26 foot S2 and our V berth has an 8 inch memory foam mattress over the original foam. We have a 19 inch flatscreen LCD tv mounted to the forward bulkhead wall. We have a tap light velcroed to the ceiling for reading net hammocks on either side for our stuff and the tv and DVD remotes have Velcro and also mount on ceiling or walls. Plus comfy pillows and extra blankets. We have a screen and a sun shade for the hatch
