May I suggest you make a cover for the memory foam, sew two old sheets together and make a really big pillowcase! It will keep it from tearing when your elbow or knee goes down between the sectional cushions. Learned the hard way. But yes the memory foam totally transforms the sleeping experience on that old boat foam.

So I bought one of these: 8 inch memory foam mattress

And then I cut it down to size with an $8 Walmart electric knife.

Then muscled the damn thing in(this was the hardest part), put the old cover back on and bought some real nice sheets from Bed Bath and Beyond for it.

The thing sleeps like a dream.
That's great but how do you get at the storage area under it?

3 inch memory foam
Serta Rejuvenator 4-inch Memory Foam Mattress Topper | Overstock.com
on the froli base
Froli Sleep Systems by Nickle Atlantic, LLC

Hugely comfortable and the airflow with the Froli pretty much eliminates condensation under the mattress. It's light enough to peel back when you need to get to the lockers underneath.

Really, been sleeping on it for 2 years and love it.

Cut your own mattress from the king sized pad with an electric knife and use the left overs for seat cushions.
