Liveaboard Marinas Punta Gorda/Port Charlotte area?

Hey Folks,

We are looking for liveaboard marinas in the Punta Gorda/Port Charlotte area. Does anyone have personal experience or recommendations?

Any other favorite gulf coast areas we should check out?

Thanks for your help!

If your draft isnt terrible caloosa marine is great place. Near Marco island. Nice people, decent prices, can be buggy but that's Florida. Very well protected.

It's not port Charlotte but,

I have two friends that just moved their live aboard boats to Ft Myers just south of the bridge to ft Myers beach, they love it there. Several other places on the river including the municiple Marina.

Best of luck

Awesome! Thanks for the tips.

I'm coming to the area in two weeks for a mini vacation/scouting trip. Does anybody know if Burnt Store Marina allows livesboards?

Yes, Burnt Store allows liveaboards. It's one we are considering. We have friends headed that way right now.

We have friends that found a couple living on a canal in St. James City without a boat. They bargained a deal and rent the dock space from them, cheaper than a marina.

Sure, no pool but they desire the quieter lifestyle that St. James City offers while still have multiple bars and restaurants close.

Last time we were there we saw multiple bare lots with docks, you may get one of those and not even live behind someone's home..
