Engine Oil Test Kit

Can someone recommend a good/cheap engine oil test kit and company?

I've search the internet but they all seem to be related to a company selling oil or "snake oil", so of course they will find something wrong with my engine.

Polaris Labs--home based in Indianapolis but they have several labs around the countryside. Used to be about $25 a sample. They send you the jars, you put in the oil and send back, get the report via e-mail within a week.

They don't sell oil.

If you are in Canada Caterpillar has the same service. Order the jars, fill them and take them back. I don't think Canada Post wants oil in the mail.

We have been using any Local Cat Dealers to get engine oil checked for years ! I'm sure there's other places to get it checked, but going to the local Cat dealer saves me time and a bunch of phone time ! Cus I know Cat will check it and I don't need to look around ! I guess I'm just simple and lazy LOL

Cat dealerships have done oil sampling for years, and I recently read that Volvo Penta is offering the service as well.
