Does anyone know if the boat has been sold? Or have the owner's contact info?

I asked the marina about it, but was told he'd never sell it.

According to the grapevine, his wife died, and it just sat there slowly molding away.
First, the sail cover which hadn't been properly attached, sagged and slowly fell off until you see it now.
I'd heard stories about the electrical system being worked on by someone who wasn't up to the job, but they're just rumors.

How did it find you??? Inquring minds want to know !
Walking the docks and the boat jumped out at me, all covered with slime, it just oozed potential. I was told it was not available, but a week later I got a call and made an offer......Strictly luck, and right place at the right time.

Very sad story with the wife dying, and then the boat being neglected more and more, until the owner died last summer.

The 220 volt system has been replaced with 110 and the person did a pretty good job. The Catana 12 volt system is a micro-switch electronic panel that is a pain in the butt and will be replaced as I go.

She has taken a LOT of work, and will need much more, but she has good bones and is well worth the effort.

I am planning on replacing the Volvo saildrive bellows, does anyone know of the best place to buy these......It appears Volvo is very proud of them.

BTW....Anyone want a nice Irwin 52 ?

I'd be willing to bet that I'm not the only one who would like to see lots of pictures of your progress, both before and after.

Re: Cheap Multis and Projects

A nicely built boat, but surely the lack of practical uses has something to do with the price. The old supply and demand at work. No one wants a daysailer that is a hassle to take out and anyone that wants a cruiser wants more space.

Wow, I can't even believe they can call that a "boat". Or that they're asking for money for it.

Yeah, it's been totaled by an insurance company, sold as salvage and rebuilt (supposedly poorly).
I know the guy who owned it when the incident happened.

LOOONNG story.
There's a thread about it somewhere on CF.

They should have left it sunk.

I kid, I kid... It does look like something you would see Huck Finn taking down the Mississippi though.

It would make a good foundation to a river cruise boat or a canal boat I think. It would be a lot of work, but I can see the potential if you could build a small 'house' on top and didn't have to face any waves.

Is it really a boat? It looks like a floating dock. Or am I looking at the wrong thing? Like a dock?
