Re: Purchase Advice

I'm finding though that usually most well maintained boats either aren't for sale, or are out of my price range.
Another thing I'm finding, is very similar boats age, condition and equipment wise will have sometimes very different asking prices.
Anyway to tell how long a boat has been for sale?

Don't know where you are but you're right about well maintained boats. I belong to a small club, about 250 boats. The good ones are always eyed by members waiting to move up a few feet. They're just waiting for the member to think of selling, no listing. Once we had a five boat chain deal in the club. Walk the docks. There's good boats out there.

Hmmmm.... Maybe I need to recant my statement in disagreement with CarlF when he said that the older boats in good shape don't exist on the market. They are there, but they might not go on the market listings as Vasco says. I know that I expect to keep my boat for some more years, but I've a list of those who are interested and I've already promised one friend first right of refusal.
