Lead keels were an option.

Re: Need Beneteau contact urgently

Try contacting Beneteau through the spare parts site. I've had good luck with them responding this way.

The site is at https://spareparts.beneteauusa.com/c...action=accueil

Double nut the stud and using a cheater bar ....there is no reason you shouldn't be able to remove a stud from an iron keel if it was installed correctly. Jim is right, much cheaper too buy threaded rod and cut to the same size....quite easy actually.

Different boat but still an iron keel and I changed all of mine a couple of years ago.
Do get the proper torque values from Beneteau...mine were originally torqued to 250 lbs and then 10 days later set to 210 lbs but each builder will have their own specs..

For what it's worth. Beneteau's - some anyway, do indeed come with stainless steel bolts holding the keel on.

Ours is straight from the French factory - 2012, with stainless steel bolts.

Same. They switched from galv to SS bolts at some point.

Re: Need Beneteau contact urgently

I replaced the keel bolts on my 1989 Oceanis 390. I called the help number from the spareparts website and they told me what I needed, and took my details. Shipment was fast.

One thing about replacing Beneteau keelbolts - a lot of people have done it. You can do it in the water if you do them one at a time. Also, and many others have had this experience, the heads can get so corroded that they literally go down a size. You are likely to find that once you get them out, the rest of the bolt looks very good. You'll need an impact driver, an impact driver extension (don't use a regular socket extension, they are too flexible), and a range of socket sizes. I didn't have to grind any of them down as some others did - in some cases I just used a hammer to drive the socket (carefully) over the corroded bolt head. You'll need to put some anti-seize on the bolts as well as a good sealant. I used butyl rubber wrapped around the bolt, and as the bolt went in, it squeezed out the butyl. Others use something like 4200. You'll need a torque wrench to set them in properly. Others recommend you go back to the bolts after a bit of sailing to torque them again. Then coat the top of the bolt with something to prevent rust - the bolts are mild steel.

Good luck.

Weird - the ones I got from North Carolina 4 years ago were galvanized mild steel.

Thanks,

I contacted Marion, SC last summer after my Oceanis 331 was damaged during transport. They sent me a Microsoft Word document that contained keel bolt specifications. I would be happy to send it to you. Let me know and we can figure something out.
