I respect the Dutch builders and designs...and traditional "working boat" features in some Dutch boats.

But...
From this photo that looks like it would be a very wet deck boat (or would submarine). Look at the flatness of the water and the low freeboard at the bow. What would it look like if there were 3-5 foot waves? Or 6-9 foot?

I agree with your opinion on this boat.

The designer made a nice looking boat for the design requirements (type). Looks like it has been kept in great shape despite the many years.

Always kinda liked those from a design standpoint. With those Taiwan boats it's all about which yard built it and when though. Some are great , some are not.

Wow.. never seen that HR model. That is cool, but does appear to be more of a Motor Sailor than a Pilot house sailboat. Depending on what you want.

It's not a pilot house unless it's fully enclosed. That's just a big hard dodger.

I followed the link to see that boat. Nice handsome boat from the side, but unfortunately there are only about three photos of the outside of the boat, none of the inside. I would prefer that a boat design shop (the link goes to a naval architect firm's site) would have more photos of the finished vessels. I was disappointed to not see the interior.

I like the exterior look of that one, and notice that the pilot house is carried well on that length of boat (64'). It "fits" to my eye's view. It appears to have an outside steering station (helm) behind the pilothouse.

I also notice that the boat has sliding doors on the SIDE of the pilothouse, a feature also seen on some of the Nauticat "Traditional Motorsailor" models, as well as other boats that have a traditional "motor sailor" styling. That sliding door feature does not bother me, but is one reason those particular Nauticat models were not qualified as "A" rating in Europe, if that matters to anyone looking for an offshore cruiser.

That said, sliding doors are commonly used on commercial vessels and fishing boats and would not bother me if I owned that boat or similar.

Yep!

I got a good impression of that boat, based on the photos linked or made by bumfuzzle.

The very good photos (better than most I see online of boats, photographed by owners) show an excellent interior.

I was surprised at the condition of the boat (interior). It looks great. Exemplary and outstanding!

I have been looking at hundreds (or thousands) of boats recently, and this one has one of the best looking "showing" interiors I have seen of a boat that is used (not brand new) and not with a price tag of a million dollars. Outstanding for that reason!

Can't comment on the sailing characteristics etc. But, it does appear that that particular vessel was very well cared for by the owners.
