Anyone seen the movie Abandoned on Netflix?

I'm only 10 minutes in and that rogue wave looked very weird short of seismic activity. Also not a great ad for Trimarans but I'll keep going for now.

Re: Anyone seen the movie Abandoned on Netflix?

I just finished it. Well worth a watch but I'll avoid spoilers. I'm assuming it's based on a true story but not sure.

Okay, I'm guessing it's not this blockbuster:

Which "Abandoned" is it? Year? Actors?
Thanks!

Yes a true story and a book, the Story of the Rose Noelle.

Have not seen the movie but the book was a good read.

Was that the boat where the NZ authorities would not believe the crew had been adrift for something like 120 days because they were still in very good physical condition?

Re: Anyone seen the movie Abandoned on Netflix?

Watched it last night. Not a bad movie; I was hoping for more sailing. I've never made an overnight, offshore passage but ... <delete comment so as not to spoil anything>. Pretty boat; I'm not a big fan of trimarans (just personal preference, I have a 50 year old Alberg 35, a far less defensible choice) but she looked nice.

Re: Anyone seen the movie Abandoned on Netflix?

Not a bad movie at all, entertaining but not one to show to someone thinking, but not quite ready for coastal or offshore sailing.

That is what is known idiomatically as "damning with faint praise".
