kayak outrigger

In 1991 I saw an Islanda sailing outrigger kayak, they were designed in Australia and manufactured in Georgia, USA. They appeared to be very versatile. At the time my boat was too small to carry one, now that I have a bigger boat I can't find any information on them. Anyone knows what happened to them?

I'm finding quite a few results with various google searches, but without more info about the specific product you're looking for it's hard to narrow down. Most of them are a simple pontoon on a single arm, but some are more complex and even have sculpted outrigger pontoons.

Do you have any more details about the design you're looking for? It could be that the manufacturing has been moved or the company has changed hands.

The problem with kayaks is they don't offer much storage for a cruiser.


I have to finish it (been cruising not building for a few years) but an outrigger canoe with quick disconnect for the arms is a nice option to consider. Makes it easier to store and decent load carrying ability. Easy to paddle or a small outboard will scoot it along at a good clip.
