1. But likely he doesn't have the admin access to auto-redirect (code 301) from the old URL to new.

2. If you just replace them one at a time pretty soon they're all done. Just launch the old, plug a bit of text (up to 32 significant words) from there into google and you should see the direct marinehowto.com link among the top results.

1. Please tell him how to do that. I can't do it from here, can I (or you)?

2. john, I'm simply offended. I've been writing about electrical systems for 20 years, and provide links I've gathered to share. I find your suggestion of how to best spend MY time after decades of sharing very rude.

To the OP, my apologizes for this diversion. Perhaps john will, too.

Do what you like, or don't of course. I would never consider it "polite" to leave the wrong links out there once the site owner's deprecated the old URLs.

And as stated, admin access to that old photo sharing hosting site would be required, I have to assume MS is just a tenant there or he would have set up the 301 redirects a long time ago.

Which would have solved both your problem and his goals.

Re: Battery Charging (again!) - Am I too full for my alternators?

Surely, the OPs problem is that with 1000W of solar his solar charge voltage is higher than stock internally regulated alternators which are often in the range 14.0 to 14.4 V. If the solar charge volts exceed that you will see little charge from the alts. Disconnect solar or try at night to check.

Yes, solar should be switched off and as stated, the battery kept depleted while testing alt output.

But, the total watts of panel power has nothing to do with their voltage, either between the panels and the SC, nor what the SC setting is for charging output, those are all independent of each other.

I just meant your desire to keep posting links to the site / URLs MS has deprecated.

With 301 redirects, pretty sure they would still count toward his new site SEO.

But more importantly, if that old domain just disappears, all your incorrect links become useless for people browsing past threads.

Re: Battery Charging (again!) - Am I too full for my alternators?

I bought a Pronautic 1250P and love it! It keeps my batteries healthy, but cost about $500. I have a cruiser with dual diesels and a good generator.
