Tide data MAC crash

When I right click on the tidal icon I get the spinning ball of death on my iMac and have to force quit the program. The current data window and graph appears with currents and tides also worked initially. I have /Applications/OpenCPN.app/Contents/SharedSupport/tcdata/HARMONIC.IDX in the dataset window and I am using NOAA chart 11545_1.KAP,2.KAP.

Is there anyway to fix this without losing my route data?

Running macOS Sierra, Version 10.12.5, OpenCPN version 4.6.1 Build 2017-03-31.

Thanks.

Re: Tide data MAC crash

Did try a re-install which did not change anything (still get the spinning wheel on R click tide icon, all routes were saved).

Re: Tide data MAC crash

You are correct. The official Mac version 4.6.1 has a bug in the tidal and currents window. The lead developer should correct it.

Re: Tide data MAC crash

What has happened here? Is it a bug for Mac users? Can anyone confirm? Has it been posted to tracker?

Re: Tide data MAC crash

I tried to follow Flyspray's instructions on adding something to tracker. The problem I am having is finding the elusive "Tracker button", it's not in the browser and it's not on OpenCPN.

Latest issue is with the Routes and Mark Manager. I can't get the spreadsheet to open when I select a route (this is a new development). I have un-installed (moved OpenCPN to the trash) and re-installed multiple times. I finally just deleted all of my routes and then uploaded them from a file I have on desktop that I used to upload to Garmin Basecamp to upload to my Etrex20 (which worked). The waypoints are displayed on the chart but the Routes and Waypoints Manager will not open the route spreadsheet.

What is the best way to do a clean un-install of OpenCPN?

Thanks.

Re: Tide data MAC crash

Finally got the Routes & Waypoint Manager to work. I clicked on properties which displayed the spreadsheet. The spreadsheet will now open from just clicking on the route (which is how it used to work).

Register here. Its also on the website opencpn.org on the top bar.
https://opencpn.org/flyspray/index.php?do=register

Then log in.

Then enter your item.

Do know what you mean here
"Tracker button", it's not in the browser and it's not on OpenCPN.

Re: Tide data MAC crash

Operating system macOS Sierra, version 10.12.5 OpenCPN Version 4.6.1 Build 2017-03-31.
Problem: When right clicking on a tide icon program locks up and I have to force quit. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the program numerous times.
The current icons allows you to right click to see the graft.
Have attached the hang file.

Re: Tide data MAC crash

Version 4.6.1 have been a beta version for testing. Try the latest stable version 4.8.0.
Reinstallation might help for Windows but usually not for Mac. Better to delete supplementary files of an application before installing a new version. Use AppCleaner.app or in case of OpenCPN delete the folder ~/Library/Preferences/opencpn (in your home folder Library).

Re: Tide data MAC crash

Thanks for your response.
I checked for the openCPN folder in Finder->Computer->MacintoshHD:
Applications
Library->Preferences
System->Library->Logging: events, processes, resources, and subsystems
and can't find this folder. I also just did a finder->file->find-> folder->"opencpn" with nothing found. Just searching for opencpn gives the .app and .dmg.

Re: Tide data MAC crash

The folder ~/Library might be hidden. It is located in your home directory.
There are several ways to make it visible. Look here:
